Novena Prayers

Novena to St. Therese:

The novena consists of 24 "Glory Be's" for nine consecutive days to thank God for the blessings given to St Therese of the Child Jesus during the 24 years of her life. One may add this prayer:

Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, I thank Thee for all the blessings and favors Thou hast showered upon the soul of Thy servant Therese of the Child Jesus, during the 24 years she spent here on earth, and in consideration of the merits of this Thy most beloved saint, I beseech Thee to grant me this favor, if it is in accordance with Thy most Holy Will and is not an obstacle to my salvation.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. (say 24 time)
Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, pray for us.

Most Holy Trinity we thank You for all the graces and blessings you have lavished upon us and upon the whole world through our little St. Theresa.  We trustingly come to her with all our needs, remembering her promise to let fall a shower of roses by spending her heaven doing good on earth. Teach us the secrets of the Little Way: to live by faith in Your Providence; to rouse our hope into limitless confidence in You to generously offer the joys and sorrows of our lives, which are the precious graces that will transform us into ardent apostles of Merciful Love. Amen  (Carmel, Des Plaines)

Novena for the Intercession of the Servant of God, Paul Murphy:

Father, You graced Your servant Paul Murphy as a talented architect who consecrated his life to you and was blessed with extraordinary virtue that found expression in the way he lived each day.

Living in a world of widespread promiscuity, he chose to remain chaste for the love of Jesus, Who he said, "reveals to me His own infinite love and mercy" and for the love of the Virgin Mary, who he called "the sweetheart of his soul... and Mother beyond compare:.

In an age that too often seeks material success and earthly fame, while the Church calls Her sons and daughters to holiness, his motto was: "God wants first of all your availability before your ability". Thus he sought to do Your will faithfully, even accepting his early death from cancer with perfect peace.

May Your Holy Name be glorified in his canonization and through his intercession we ask for the special grace of ______________. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.  Servant of God, Paul Murphy pray for us (repeat 3 times).

With Ecclesiastical approval (for private use only).

Novena to St. Jeanne Jugan:

Jesus, you rejoiced and praised Your Father for having revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven.  We thank you for the graces granted to your humble servant Jeanne Jugan, to whom we confide our petitions and needs. ________________________________________ Father of the poor, You have never refused the prayer of the lowly. We ask You , therefore, to hear the petitions that she presents on our behalf. Jesus through Mary, your Mother and ours, we ask this of You who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, Amen.

Venerable Servant of God, Mother Mary Theresa, during your lifetime you practiced great charity and later wrote: "I felt the misery and suffering of others and was constantly occupied with the thought of how I could be of service to the needy and the poor". I, who venerate you, come to you for help. Venerable Servant of God, Mother Mary Theresa, beg for me at the throne of God, for this my special intention (mention petition) through Christ our Lord.
